Gregg’s Puppy Blog

The past 6 months have been very big months for me in my personal life.  Back in December I closed on my first house and then in April I got married.  So what’s next????  (I know when my parents read this, they’ll say kids)

Of course it has to be getting a new dog.  I’ve actually have wanted to get one for the past few years, unfortunately apartment living wasn’t ideal (or even allowed) for getting a puppy.  So once we moved into our new home, we begun the process.

Golden retrievers are a popular breed within my family.  I have a sister and brother who both have one so it easily became my number-one choice.  Once my wife gave the green light, we started searching for breeders and in February located an upcoming litter.

Funny enough, the litter of 5 were born just the day after our wedding.  The good news is that the waiting game is just about over.  We get to bring home our new pup in just 10 days!!!  This past weekend we got a chance to check out mom and the entire litter and they are all doing very well.  Since I know of nothing cuter than a puppy, here are a few pictures from our visit to hopefully brighten up your day.  I’m sure their will be future blogs on all the good (and I’m sure some bad) moments our new puppy will give us.

Awww, how adorable! I too have a golden retriever who will be 5 on July 18th. (Yes, she gets a birthday party every year!) I think they are a wonderful breed of dogs. I have heard several complaints from people about goldens digging & being hyper, but I haven’t had a single problem with mine. Potty training was very easy for her. I believe she only had 1 accident. They are very intelligent dogs and can learn fast! She is very protective of our whole family and (your parents will love this)…THEY ARE GREAT WITH KIDS ;-)I wouldn’t trade mine for anything in the world! Have fun!

I have a golden retriever as well. She’ll be 5 in August. She is a wonderful dog and extremely loyal and obedient. She loves to be with people, more so than other animals. And, she is awesome with kids! We have 2 little boys and they both love her…and she loves them. She is protective, but I think her bark is bigger than her bite. I don’t know that she’d ever hurt a fly! Good luck and enjoy your new family member!!
